Savannah has long been an important port city and remains to this day a center of industry on the Atlantic Ocean. It is located on the Savannah River which flows out to the ocean and is parallel to the Little Black River on the other side of the South Carolina border. Savannah has consistently ranked among the best and most beautiful cities in which to live and work.
